Her father inspired her to start photography, which she started in high school, making her photographic debut by photographing a nude student. After high school, she went on to work as a photographer at Washingtion and Lee University. Which lead to her first one woman exhibition in the late 1977. In 1988 her second exhibition was published, At Twelve, where the photos of adolescent girls capturing their confusing emotions and developing identities. Immediate family, her third exhibition was published in 1990. She is currently taking portrait of her husband and southern landscapes.
